THE CHERRY ORCHARD

CONGRATULATIONS TO AMY JANE KEATING

ATRIUM BUSINESS CENTRE MANAGER

All of us at Atrium Business Centre would like to congratulate our manager, Amy Jane Keating, on her performance in The Cherry Orchard that opened last weekend in Fota House.

Some years ago the Irish Heritage Trust acquired Fota House and on Friday 17th April 2009, An Taoiseach, Brian Cowen, re-opened this Great House after the restoration of the first floor assisted by the substantial donation of Irish Art and Furniture by the McCarthy Family and AIB

The Cherry Orchard, written by Anton Chekhov who, when the play was first performed in 1904, cried because he felt the humour in this his masterpiece was not discovered.

Amy is currently acting in her free time with The Gaiety School of Acting and she thoroughly enjoys the company of her colleagues there . This particular show ran for two nights in the amazing venue that is Fota House. It is very interesting that the play is curiously up to date, with the main theme being a family in danger of losing their mansion and their cherry orchard to financial problems.  The Adult Theatre Company of The Gaiety School of Acting (Cork) under the direction of Stella Majewsky has made a name for themselves exploring up-to-date topics, as in “Flesh”, the critically acclaimed play on sex trafficking.

Amy is usually found setting up flexible office solutions in the Business Centre where existing businesses and new start up businesses can make substantial savings by availing of Serviced Office space or Virtual Office services thereby eliminating all unnecessary overheads e.g. heating, air-conditioning, municipal rates, car parking and service charges.

It’s ironic that in Amy’s business life she provides fully managed offices with reception services  as a solution to such financial problems for businesses today, especially in this current economic climate. The play was performed from room to room on the entire ground floor of this Great House, combining an intimate visit to Fota House with a hilarious investigation into the all too human denial of unpaid bills. All the staff including those who provide our clients telephone answering service, went along to Fota House to view the show.

Fota House is an amazing venue with such beautiful architecture in a lovely tranquil setting and close to Fota Island Golf Club that hosted the PGA Irish Open Championship on two occasions.

Atrium Business Centre, the number one provider of 5 star Serviced Offices and Virtual Offices in Cork City, congratulates Amy and all her colleagues in The Gaiety School of Acting (Cork) and in particular the show director Stella Majewsky.
